Di Mark's Pizza

One of my fondest childhood memories is waking up on a Saturday morning to the smell of fresh pizza baking in the oven. It was a special treat for us, Pizza for breakfast!!! We lived in New York in the early 50’s and my parents, Arturo and Lita Fernandez would get together with their Italian neighbors on Friday evening--Dad kneading the pizza dough and Mom preparing the rich, thick tomato sauce. The wonderful smell of pizza coming from the kitchen would draw many of the neighborhood children to play in our yard. Mom’s Filipino hospitality allowed each child to sample her pizza pie. Needless to say, we were quite popular on Saturdays.

The First and the Original Freshly Prepared Sisig began in 2005 when seasoned caterer and certified foodie Immanuel D. Balce was inspired to innovate the Pinoy’s favorite pulutan, sisig and turn it into a dish served with rice. Baby Fashionistas started in 2005 as an online showroom for made to order pieces for kids to wear on special occasions. Owner/Designer started it out of her personal desire to dress her daughter in unique and fashionable pieces that she couldn’t find in local retailers. The main office is located in Sta. Mesa Manila, this is where production takes place, also where online clients go to have their kids measured and their orders picked up after. Through old fashioned word of mouth, Baby Fashionistas quickly gained more customers and became quite popular online as the go to for parents whose babies are celebrating birthdays, baptisms, or attending weddings, costume parties and special occasions that require dressing up to the nines.

Tita Fannies Liempo and Chicken Haus opened on a sunny morning, on the 18th day of September, 1999. It’s first branch was at the throbbing center of the Poblacion, in Zamora Street, Iligan City.

Ferino's Bibingka

Ferino’s Bibingka started in October of 1938 at Juan Luna Street in Tondo, Manila. Husband and wife, Ceferino (Mang Ferino) and Cristina (Aling Tinay) Francisco started cooking bibingka with three clay stoves on a 1-meter bench and two small tables. Initially, they would sell bibingka only during the Christmas season. After the war, Mang Ferino further improved the quality of the bibingka and they started offering it all year round. Their bibingka became famous including other merienda items such as Menudo with Mini Pandesal, Ginatang Bilo-bilo with Inangit, Dinuguan-puto and Palabok (Pancit Luglog).
